Castleton University

An honorary award in recognition of service of any Castleton student, staff, faculty, or administrator who is a veteran or currently serving in the military (in any of its branches) who has positively influenced the Castleton community.

This award is given annually to any member of the Spartan newspaper or WIUV radio station who has demonstrated leadership, commitment, and a strong passion for supporting their organization.

A special recognition awarded only once in 2019 to honor the legacy of former Castleton employee Lee Wiktorski and his service to the Castleton community. It is given to a student, faculty, or staff member who has strong ties to his or her community and who shows the same qualities of reliability and dedication as Lee did.

This award is given annually in recognition of his/her devotion to the welfare of the college and his/her outstanding performance as a campus leader.

This award is given annually to a Student Government Association delegate whose involvement in any aspect of the SGA that has shown outstanding devotion to their job, activity or position.

This award is given annually for distinguished service in activities, and exhibiting abilities and qualities of leadership, conscientiousness, dependability and interest in the college community and its function.

This award is given annually for outstanding volunteer service to the Castleton/Rutland County community.

A Residence Life member whose involvement in any aspect of Residence Life that has shown outstanding devotion to their job, activity or position.

This award recognizes a Castleton undergraduate or graduate student who has shown immense school spirit and is actively involved in various clubs, groups, or activities on campus.

This award is given annually to one of our Peer Advocates for CHANGE (PAC) who has dedicated themselves to being an informed educator and dedicated advocate on our campus.

This award is given annually to an international student that is active on campus, positive, ready to learn, and eager to help.

This award is given annually to the new student who has contributed time, dedication and enthusiasm to the Junior Class as well as to the Castleton University community.

This award is given annually to a Student Government Association delegate whose involvement in any aspect of the SGA that has shown outstanding devotion to their job, activity or position.

The Academic Excellence Award is given annually to a student who is deemed the top student in his or her major.

SALUTE is the only national honor society recognizing the achievements of student veterans. SALUTE membership recognizes their commitment to academic excellence, high principles and superior achievement throughout their lifetimes, and is dedicated to service, academics, leadership, unity, tribute and excellence.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the student government at Castleton University. The branches are the Congress, the Student Court, and the Campus Activities Board. As the student government of Castleton, the SGA represents the interests of Castleton students. The SGA Secretary is responsible for the distribution of all necessary correspondence and records of SGA activities.

The Castleton Scholars Celebration is a showcase of original student work. This year's event marks the seventh annual celebration and features the scholarly and creative endavors of more than 40 students, representing 10 different programs.
