Phi Eta Sigma recognizes the superior academic achievement of first-year college and university students in all disciplines.

The EcoRep program at Castleton University offers students the ability to promote eco-friendly initiatives for sustainability on campus.

Each year, the Vermont State Colleges System appoints one student representative to the Board of Trustees. Students who fill this one-year term are elected by the Vermont State Colleges System Student Association, which serves as the SGA for all of the colleges and universities within the VSCS. The Board of Trustees provides leadership and governance at the system level, addressing issues of funding, sustainability, accessibility, affordability, and student retention and completion.

Castleton's Community Advisors are an integral part of the Residence Life Department. Community Advisors are assigned to a floor or house of 16-50 students and their primary responsibility is to act as a facilitator of community and enhance the on-campus living experience for their peers.

The following students were named to the Castleton University President's List for the fall semester of the 2019-20 academic year. To qualify for this highest academic honor, students must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 4.0.

This award is given annually by the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) Vermont chapter to undergraduate students from colleges and universities across the state who demonstrate a commitment to promoting health and physical activity in education.

Rutland Economic Development Corporation is focused on using collaboration, creativity, and ingenuity to recruit talent and businesses of all kinds, grow and retain employers, and promote a healthy and vibrant community. They work to make sure the greater Rutland region is recognized as the most collaborative, innovative, and friendly place in Vermont to live, work, play, and grow a business.

The Sigma Beta Delta Scholarship is selected on criteria including academic strength, community involvement, educational and career aspirations, and the difference receiving a scholarship would mean in their life. The honor society awards approximately 30 scholarships nationally that range from $1,000 to $1,500.

The Leonard C. Goldman Distinguished Senior Award is an annual honor given to the graduating senior who has excelled in and out of the classroom, contributed to community service, and served as an example to others.

As elected representative for the Castleton senior class, the delegates represent the interests of students in their respective graduating class. The Senior Class Treasurer is the financial officer of the student body class and administrator of the financial affairs of the class. The treasurer also oversees all revenue and expenses related to class activity fees.

The Plato Prize is awarded to a student with the best essay in philosophy during the academic year and is sponsored by Castleton's Philosophy Department and Chief Academic Officer. The competition is open to all Castleton students.

This award is given annually to a student or students who have consistently exemplified Dr. Woodruff's qualities of leadership, creativity, resourcefulness and dedication to Castleton. This is the highest honor that a student leader can achieve at Castleton.

This award is given annually to student-leaders who exemplify Abel Leavenworth's characteristics of warmth, integrity, strong principles and wise counsel.

This award is given annually to a student or students who have made outstanding contributions to Castleton through their participation in various extracurricular activities.

This award is given annually to the new student who has contributed time, dedication and enthusiasm to the Sophomore Class as well as to the Castleton University community.

This award is given annually to a non-traditional student that is active on campus, positive, ready to learn, and eager to help.
