This award is given annually in recognition of his/her devotion to the welfare of the college and his/her outstanding performance as a campus leader.

Congratulations to the newest Spartans! Castleton is excited to welcome the following students who have recently registered for the fall 2018 semester!

Castleton University congratulates the graduates from May 2018. The following students recently graduated Castleton University and were recognized during the 231st commencement on May 12.

The following students were named to the Castleton University President's List for the spring semester of the 2017-18 academic year. To qualify for this highest academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 4.0.

The following students were named to the Castleton University Dean's List for the spring semester of the 2017-18 academic year. To qualify for this academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 3.5.

This award is given annually to student-leaders who exemplify Abel Leavenworth's characteristics of warmth, integrity, strong principles and wise counsel.

This award is given annually to a student or students who have consistently exemplified Dr. Woodruff's qualities of leadership, creativity, resourcefulness and dedication to Castleton. This is the highest honor that a student leader can achieve at Castleton.

The Sharon Brown Memorial Award is given annually to a female student-athlete. They must relate well to peers with a desire to excel and dedication to their team. They have shown leadership, academic achievement and service to the community, as well as possibly playing more than one sport.

The Mary Ellen Evans Award is given annually to an outstanding female student-athlete who has played four years in one sport while also providing service to the college community.

The John Young Memorial Award is given annually to a male or female basketball player at Castleton. They must have displayed leadership throughout their career, outstanding offensive abilities and a positive attitude, along with a possible interest in coaching.

The Rocky Mezzetta Award is given annually to an outstanding male student-athlete who has shown a determination to succeed while being a coachable team leader with a desire to continually improve.

This award is given annually to the top male varsity athlete and the top female varsity athlete. The individuals must have shown leadership, determination, sportsmanship, coachability, willingness to give of oneself, and have a sense of responsibility to the team, coach, and university throughout the year.

This award is given annually to an upper-class Technical Theatre and Design major who has shown willingness to go above and beyond what is asked and expected of students both in class and performances is dependable and responsible and has fostered a passion for theatre through other students.

This award is given annually to an upper-class Acting and Directing major who has shown willingness to go above and beyond what is asked and expected of students both in class and performances, is dependable and responsible and has fostered a passion for theatre through other students.

This award is given annually to a first-year Theatre major who has proven him/herself both academically and theatrically, displayed a passion for theatre, respect for fellow students and professors, and has shown immense dedication to both our department and the shows we produce.

This award recognizes a Castleton undergraduate or graduate student who has shown immense school spirit and is actively involved in various clubs, groups, or activities on campus.

This award is given annually for distinguished service in activities, and exhibiting abilities and qualities of leadership, conscientiousness, dependability and interest in the college community and its function.

This award recognizes a Graduate Assistant who has demonstrated a sincere interest in the welfare of students and generously contributed time, energy, and support to the student body.

A Residence Life member whose involvement in any aspect of Residence Life that has shown outstanding devotion to their job, activity or position.

This award is given annually for outstanding volunteer service to the Castleton/Rutland County community.

This award is given annually to a Student Government Association delegate whose involvement in any aspect of the SGA that has shown outstanding devotion to their job, activity or position.

This award is given annually to an international student that is active on campus, positive, ready to learn, and eager to help.

This award is given annually to a non-traditional student that is active on campus, positive, ready to learn, and eager to help.

This award is given annually to a student, faculty, or staff member who has gone above and beyond to educate the college community on diversity, equality, global awareness, or similar issues.

This award is given annually to the new student who has contributed time, dedication and enthusiasm to the Junior Class as well as to the Castleton University community.

This award is given annually to the new student who has contributed time, dedication and enthusiasm to the Freshman Class as well as to the Castleton University community.

This award is given annually to any member of the Spartan newspaper or WIUV radio station who has demonstrated leadership, commitment, and a strong passion for supporting their organization.

The Academic Excellence Award is given annually to a student who is deemed the top student in his or her major.

An essay that earns Pass with Distinction on the university's writing graduation standard presents a cogent, well-articulated analysis of the writing topic and demonstrates near mastery of the five writing standards at Castleton University.
