Following a second-place finish in the six-kilometer Vermont State Meet, Kaylyn Crompton of the Castleton women's cross country team has been recognized as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Rookie of the Week.

Freshman Kaylyn Crompton has brought home the Eastern College Athletic Conferene Rookie of the Week award for the week ending Sept. 18.

9/12/16 Freshman Kaylyn Crompton was named the North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week and Runner of the Week after finishing in first place out of 47 runners from seven different colleges and universities with a time of 20:15 in the Castleton Invitational 5K race.

9/14/16 Kaylyn Crompton reeled in another weekly honor, this time being named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Women's Cross-Country Runner of the Week for the week ending on Sept. 11.

9/5/16 Freshman Kaylyn Crompton reeled in the first Rookie of the Week honor of the season by the North Atlantic Conference after taking first place out of 53 runners in the Mountaineer Invitational at Southern Vermont 5k race.

In the midst of his best career season, Grandon Smith of the Castleton University men's cross country team has been named North Atlantic Conference Runner of the Year.

10/31/16 Following a first place finish in the North Atlantic Conference Championship at Johnson State, Grandon Smith of the Castleton University men's cross country team has been tabbed NAC Runner of the Week.

Grandon Smith was named Eastern College Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for the week ending Sept. 18, acknowleding the junior's performance in the UMASS-Dartmouth Invitational.

9/14/16 The Eastern College Athletic Conference has announced Castleton's Grandon Smith has been named the Division III New England Men's Cross-Country Runner of the Week for the week ending Sept. 11.

Castleton University senior wide receiver Soren Pelz-Walsh will add another major honor to his growing list of accomplishments, as the native of Dummerston, Vt., has been voted First Team Academic All-America for Division III Football by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Senior tight end Edward Doton was named All-ECFC honorable mention.

11/17/16 For the second consecutive year, senior wide receiver Soren Pelz-Walsh was voted First Team All-Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC).

Castleton University wide receiver Soren Pelz-Walsh and offensive lineman Jordan Stone have been voted onto the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District I Division III Football Team for the second consecutive year, while linebacker Darren Callan earned Academic All-District recognition for the first time, as the national organization of athletic communicators announced the All-District football teams.

For the second consecutive week, a member of the Castleton University football team has been honored by the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference, as senior linebacker Darren Callan has been named the ECFC Defensive Player of the Week.

After leading the Castleton defense in the Spartans' 23-13 victory over Anna Maria Saturday afternoon, junior Jakob Trautwein has been named the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) Defensive Player of the Week.

Castleton women's soccer standout Nicole Wershoven was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division III Academic All-America Third Team on Friday afternoon, three weeks after being named to CoSIDA's Division III Academic All-District Team.

After posting two of his best starts of the season against stiff competition over the weekend, Castleton men's hockey goalie Ryan Mulder has been named the New England Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Week

10/31/16 For the third time this season, Castleton women's soccer goalie Jessica Binkowski has been named the North Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week

10/28/16 McLenithan was a force for the Spartan offense all season, racking up 22 points on eight goals and six assists. She had one multi-goal game and one multi-assist game this season, collected a season-high five points in a win against Thomas.

10/28/16 DiPhilippo had the most successful season of her career offensively, scoring three goals for a total of six points after moving from defense to midfield. The senior was a solid two-way player for the Spartans, helping guide a defense that allowed just seven goals in NAC action.

Binkowski had a solid season in goal for Castleton, making 24 saves in conference play and allowing less than one goal per game on average. The senior posted four shutouts overall this season, stopping shots at a .748 clip with a goals-against average of 1.63.

Hutnak has enjoyed an impressive first season with the Spartans. The rookie standout finished the conference regular season in the top-10 in assists (4, T5th), points (16, T7th), and goals (6, T9th). She recorded an eight-point performance against Lyndon, netting a hat-trick and tallying two helpers. The freshman started the season as a top reserve, but finished as a key starter. She missed time due to injury, but was able to score a crucial goal in her first game back from injury, a 2-2 tie with Husson.
