Castleton University

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the student government at Castleton College. The branches are the Congress, the College Court, and the Campus Activities Board. As the student government of Castleton, the SGA represents the interests of Castleton students. The SGA Executive Vice President assists the SGA President with all student association activities, development and fiscal planning, and will assume the position of President upon permanent vacancy.

The SGA Treasurer is the financial officer of the SGA and administrator of the financial affairs of the association. The treasurer also oversees all revenue and expenses related to the Student Activity fees.

Ryan Mulder was recently honored as the ECAC East Men's Hockey Goaltender of the Week.

The scholarship is awarded annually to students who participated in equal opportunity programs, such as TRIO Upward Bound. Winners are chosen in a regional competition, which recognizes academic potential and students who have overcome significant barriers to pursue higher education.

Since President Wolk arrived at Castleton in 2001, it has been his practice to select a Commuter Student of the Semester, an award that also comes with a special parking space--his--and an honor that can be added to a resume!

Castleton College congratulates the graduates from December, 2014. The following students recently graduated Castleton College and will be recognized during the 228th commencement on May 9.

Recently Pavin Parrish was honored as the North Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week.

The White Coat Ceremony was designed in 1993 by The Arnold P. Gold Foundation as a way to welcome new students into the medical profession and to set clear expectations regarding their primary role as physicians. The inaugural tradition, which includes the cloaking and recitation of the medical oath by participants, emphasizes the importance of compassionate care as well as scientific proficiency in medicine and nursing.

The following students were named to the Castleton College Dean's List for the fall semester of the 2014-15 academic year. To qualify for this academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 3.5.

The following students were named to the Castleton College President's List for the fall semester of the 2014-15 academic year. To qualify for this highest academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 4.0.

Fulfilling a longtime aspiration to study abroad in China, Global Studies major Eric Ginter, '16, will spend the spring semester of his junior year in Chengdu, China studying foreign language and culture after recently being named the recipient of a prestigious national study abroad scholarship, the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship.
