This award is given annually in recognition of his/her devotion to the welfare of the college and his/her outstanding performance as a campus leader.

This award is given annually to a female athlete who relates well to peers and coach, shows a desire to learn and excel, demonstrates dedication, persistence, and team leadership. She must carry a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

This award is given annually to the top male varsity athlete and the top female varsity athlete. The individuals must have shown leadership, determination, sportsmanship, coachability, willingness to give of oneself, and have a sense of responsibility to the team, coach, and College throughout the year.

This award is given annually to a male athlete in recognition of his determination, drive to improve his athletic skills, coachability, and team leadership.

This award is given annually to the most outstanding female athlete who has played four years in one sport. She must provide service to the college community and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

This award is given annually to a male or female basketball player who shows great leadership and outstanding offensive abilities. This individual must have a positive attitude and is interested in pursuing a degree in teaching or have interest in coaching in the future.

This award is given annually to student-leaders who exemplify Abel Leavenworth's characteristics of warmth, integrity, strong principles and wise counsel.

This award is given annually for outstanding contributions to the campus community. Any member of any recognized student organization is eligible.

This award is given annually to a Women and Gender Studies major for excellence in both academics and advocacy.

This award is given annually to the new student who has contributed time, dedication and enthusiasm to the Freshman Class as well as to the Castleton State College community.

This award is given annually for outstanding volunteer service to the Castleton/Rutland County community.

This award is given annually to one of our Peer Advocates for CHANGE (PAC) who has dedicated themselves to being an informed educator and dedicated advocate on our campus.

The Academic Excellence Award is given annually to a student who is deemed the top student in his or her major.

This award is given annually to a first-year Theatre major who has proven him/herself both academically and theatrically, displayed a passion for theatre, respect for fellow students and professors, and has shown immense dedication to both our department and the shows we produce.

The Dean's Scholar Award is a newly created award developed to honor students with the strongest presentation at the annual Castleton Scholars Celebration: A Showcase of Original Student Work.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the student government at Castleton State College. The branches are the Congress, the College Court, and the Campus Activities Board. As the student government of Castleton, the SGA represents the interests of Castleton students. The SGA Treasurer is the financial officer of the SGA and administrator of the financial affairs of the association. The treasurer also oversees all revenue and expenses related to the Student Activity fees.

The Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Program places recent college graduates and young professionals as English teaching assistants in primary and secondary schools and universities overseas. The program aims to strengthen foreign students' English language abilities and knowledge of the United States, while allowing program participants to gain from intensive cross-cultural interaction and international educational opportunities provided at the host institution.

The VA Learning Opportunities Residency (VALOR) Program gives outstanding registered nursing students who have completed their junior year in an accredited clinical program the opportunity to develop competencies in clinical nursing while at a VA approved health care facility. The full-time, paid position will include competency-based clinical practice with a qualified RN preceptor and participation in nursing-focused clinical conferences.

Eighteen faculty-student groups have been awarded grants for their collaborative research projects scheduled for the 2013-14 academic year.
