Castleton University

International Organization of Social Sciences and Behavioral Research is an international society of scholars, academicians, and practitioners who exchange ideas and collaborate in a conference setting. IOSSBR has a wide range of participation from various countries. In the last decade IOSSBR has had participants from 35 different countries around the world.

The Popular Culture Association is a large and diverse scholarly organization dedicated to the academic understanding of a variety of popular cultural expressions. The meeting is their annual conference, jointly offered with the American Culture Association.

Senior Bryanna duPont recently was named to the North Atlantic Conference All-Conference Second Team.

College and university students representing eight schools from around Vermont competed for cash awards in the first-ever Collegiate LaunchVT business pitch competition on February 19, 2016 at Champlain College.

Nine faculty-student groups have been awarded grants for their collaborative research projects scheduled for the 2015-16 academic year.

Academic Recognition Scholarships are given to first-year students who have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and are nominated by their First Year Seminar professor. These students will receive an annual scholarship, enrollment in Honors courses during the sophomore year, the option to live in Honors housing, and eligibility to serve on the Honors Council.

This student was recently named to the NAC All-Academic team for their academic performance for the fall semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

The following students were named to the Castleton University Dean's List for the fall semester of the 2015-16 academic year. To qualify for this academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 3.5.

The White Coat Ceremony was designed in 1993 by The Arnold P. Gold Foundation as a way to welcome new students into the medical profession and to set clear expectations regarding their primary role as physicians. The annual tradition, which includes the cloaking and recitation of the medical oath by participants, emphasizes the importance of compassionate care as well as scientific proficiency in medicine and nursing.
