The following students were named to the Castleton College President's List for the spring semester of the 2014-15 academic year. To qualify for this highest academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 4.0.

The following students were named to the Castleton College Dean's List for the spring semester of the 2014-15 academic year. To qualify for this academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 3.5.

The Freedom and Unity TV initiative works to support Vermont youth filmmakers. The competition is designed to capture local stories and features from the point of view of aspiring film directors and producers, while showcasing the talent of young video professionals under 30.

The tradition of the nursing pin and the ceremonial pinning originated in the 1860's at the Nightingale School of Nursing at St. Thomas Hospital in London. Having been recently awarded The Red Cross of St. George for her selfless service to the injured and dying in the Crimean War, Florence Nightingale chose to extend the honor to her most outstanding graduate nurses by presenting each of them with a medal for excellence. The pin presented is both beautiful and symbolic. It has been both literally and symbolically a cross to bear, a medal of honor, and a badge of courage.

The job of a Student Orientation Staff (SOS) member is to serve as a role model, peer counselor, peer academic advisor, and group facilitator for new students during the summer Registration sessions, Orientation, and First Year Seminar.
