Castleton Film Festival Returns this March with Slate of Queer Films
Castleton, VT (02/24/2022) — Castleton University's Film Festival returns this March with a series of films highlighting Queer stories. The films feature themes of queer identity from across the spectrum, each with a unique perspective. The Film Festival spans four days over the course of two weeks. Screenings will take place in Herrick Auditorium at 7 p.m. These events are free and open to the public.

"Ahead of the Curve"

"Ahead of the Curve" follows Franco Stevens efforts to sustain Curve, the best-selling lesbian magazine ever published, as it struggles to stay relevant. Franco connects with women working in queer spaces to understand the needs of the community with the hope that Curve will be able to meet the challenge.
"Alice Junior"
March 3
" Alice Junior" explores the difficulty that Alice, a spoiled transgender YouTuber from a vibrant Brazilian city, experiences when her father relocates them to conservative small town and old-fashioned Catholic school. Alice challenges her classmates and teachers to rethink their ideas surrounding trans femininity, and tries to catch her first kiss in the process.
"Kiss Me Kosher"

"Kiss Me Kosher" is a subversive love story of clashing cultures and families. Two generations of Israleli women fall in love with a German woman and Palestinian man respectively, chaos ensues. What happens with lovers who don't fit but do belong together?
"Twilight's Kiss (Suk Suk)"

"Twilight's Kiss (Suk Suk)" highlights two closeted married men in their twilight years. Pak (70) a taxi driver who refuses to retire, meets Hoi (65), a retired single father. They are proud of the families they have created through hard work, despite societal and personal pressure. However, something is unleashed within them during their first encounter that had been suppressed for many years in each of them. As they recall their personal histories, they contemplate a possible future together.
