Clean Hands: The Life of Valery Chalidze Lecture at Castleton University

Castleton, VT (04/01/2023) — Castleton professor Lisa Chalidze presents a lecture on the life of human rights activist and renowned soviet dissident Valery Chalidze on April 13 at 12:30 p.m. in the Jeffords Center Auditorium.

Valery Chalidze passionately defended human rights. He published several underground and formal journals and writings on the subject, and was named a MacArthur Fellow in 1985. He also was known for memorizing the often ignored or disregarded legal statutes of the Soviet justice system and engaging in malicious compliance, demanding that the authorities obey their own rules.

This event is free.
