Castleton Center for Schools summer session offers essential professional development

Castleton, VT (06/03/2020) — The region's leader in professional development for educators, Castleton Center for Schools, is offering a broad spectrum of graduate-level courses this summer to meet the needs of K-12 educators and administrators.

Center for Schools will offer all of its summer courses through synchronous and/or asynchronous online delivery or in an outdoor setting with proper social distancing measures. The convenient online delivery allows educators to participate from wherever they may be - at home, by the pool, on vacation, or from the camper. Register for courses at castleton.edu/continuing-ed.

Online registration is currently open for more than 160 summer courses offered by Center for Schools, with classes beginning now through Mid-August. Additional courses will likely be added over the next couple of weeks.

"Many courses are back by popular demand in response to educator requests. The Center, together with its educational partners, has also built 25 new courses to meet current needs," said Tara Lidstone, Assistant Director of Castleton Center for Schools. "If educators need courses that aren't offered this summer, they should feel free to reach out to us. We'll happily work with them to build a tailored course."

This summer's offerings cover a wide variety of content areas and topics including, Online Teaching & Learning, Self-care, MakerSpace, Mentoring, Ethics, Brain Research & Learning, and Social-Emotional Learning. It also includes core content areas of Math, Literacy, Science & Social Studies, and more.
