Castleton University congratulates graduates from the Class of 2023! The following students recently graduated from Castleton University and were recognized during the 236th commencement ceremony.

The following students were named to the Castleton University President's List for the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year. To qualify for this highest academic honor, students must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 4.0.

The following students were named to the Castleton University Dean's List for the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year. To qualify for this academic honor, the student must maintain full-time status and a semester grade point average of 3.5.

This award is given annually to a Student Government Association delegate whose involvement in any aspect of the SGA that has shown outstanding devotion to their job, activity or position.

The Rocky Mezzetta Award is given annually to an outstanding male student-athlete who has shown a determination to succeed while being a coachable team leader with a desire to continually improve.

This award is given annually to a student or students who have made outstanding contributions to Castleton through their participation in various extracurricular activities.

This award recognizes a Castleton undergraduate or graduate student who has shown immense school spirit and is actively involved in various clubs, groups, or activities on campus.

Any community advisor who goes above and beyond to create community and strong relationships on campus.

This award recognizes a Graduate Assistant who has demonstrated a sincere interest in the welfare of students and generously contributed time, energy, and support to the student body.

An honorary award in recognition of service of any Castleton student, staff, faculty, or administrator who is a veteran or currently serving in the military (in any of its branches) who has positively influenced the Castleton community.

The White Coat Ceremony was designed in 1993 by The Arnold P. Gold Foundation as a way to welcome new students into the medical profession and to set clear expectations regarding their primary role as physicians. The annual tradition, which includes the cloaking and recitation of the medical oath by participants, emphasizes the importance of compassionate care as well as scientific proficiency in medicine and nursing.

These students participated in the creation and mounting of the temporary installation "Tribute to Christo and Jeanne-Claude" on the Castleton University campus.

This scholarship was awarded to two students who had an immense impact on the creation and publishing of the COVID Chronicles book.

The job of a Student Orientation Staff (SOS) member is to serve as a role model, peer counselor, peer academic advisor, and group facilitator for new students during Orientation and Connections Seminar.

An essay that earns Pass with Distinction on the University's writing graduation standard presents a cogent, well-articulated analysis of the writing topic and demonstrates near mastery of the writing standards at Castleton University.

Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication, and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.

This award is given annually by the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) Vermont chapter to undergraduate students from colleges and universities across the state who demonstrate a commitment to promoting health and physical activity in education.

The Philosophy program awards the Plato Prize each year to a student with the best essay judged to display the greatest clarity, originality, and philosophical acumen. The competition is open to all Castleton students.
