This award is given annually for outstanding volunteer service to the Castleton/Rutland County community.

This award is given annually in recognition of his/her devotion to the welfare of the college and his/her outstanding performance as a campus leader.

This award is given annually for distinguished service in activities, and exhibiting abilities and qualities of leadership, conscientiousness, dependability and interest in the college community and its function.

This award is given annually to a first-year Theatre major who has proven him/herself both academically and theatrically, displayed a passion for theatre, respect for fellow students and professors, and has shown immense dedication to both our department and the shows we produce.

This award is given annually to an upper class Technical Theatre and Design major who has shown willingness to go above and beyond what is asked and expected of students both in class and performances, is dependable and responsible, and has fostered passion for theatre through other students.

This award is given annually to an upper class Acting and Directing major who has shown willingness to go above and beyond what is asked and expected of students both in class and performances, is dependable and responsible, and has fostered passion for theatre through other students.

The Castleton Scholars Celebration is a showcase of original student work. This year's event marks the third annual celebration and features work from 45 students, representing 11 different programs.

Nine faculty-student groups have been awarded grants for their collaborative research projects scheduled for the 2015-16 academic year.

Academic Recognition Scholarships are given to first-year students who have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and are nominated by their First Year Seminar professor. These students will receive an annual scholarship, enrollment in Honors courses during the sophomore year, the option to live in Honors housing, and eligibility to serve on the Honors Council.

Nineteen faculty-student groups have been awarded grants for their collaborative research projects scheduled for the 2015-16 academic year.

The tradition of the nursing pin and the ceremonial pinning originated in the 1860's at the Nightingale School of Nursing at St. Thomas Hospital in London. Having been recently awarded The Red Cross of St. George for her selfless service to the injured and dying in the Crimean War, Florence Nightingale chose to extend the honor to her most outstanding graduate nurses by presenting each of them with a medal for excellence. The pin presented is both beautiful and symbolic. It has been both literally and symbolically a cross to bear, a medal of honor, and a badge of courage.

This award is given annually to a Student Government Association delegate whose involvement in any aspect of the SGA that has shown outstanding devotion to their job, activity or position.

This award is given annually to a student, faculty, or staff member who has gone above and beyond to educate the college community on diversity, equality, global aware­ness, or similar issues.

This award is given annually to a non-traditional student that is active on campus, positive, ready to learn, and eager to help.

This award is given annually to one of our Peer Advocates for CHANGE (PAC) who has dedicated themselves to being an informed educator and dedicated advocate on our campus.

This award is given annually to the new student who has contributed time, dedication and enthusiasm to the Junior Class as well as to the Castleton College community.

The Academic Excellence Award is given annually to a student who is deemed the top student in his or her major.

This award is given annually to the new student who has contributed time, dedication and enthusiasm to the Sophomore Class as well as to the Castleton College community.

This scholarship of $200 is provided annually to a student who will be continuing his/her education towards an ADN degree who demonstrates the following criteria set by the Nursing Alumni Association: self-motivated learner, consistently above average theory grad, excelled in clinical performance, demonstrated a commitment to nursing, served as a role model for peers.

This award is given annually to a Women and Gender Studies major for excellence in both academics and advocacy.

This award is given annually to a first-year Theatre major who has proven him/herself both academically and theatrically, displayed a passion for theatre, respect for fellow students and professors, and has shown immense dedication to both our department and the shows we produce.

This award is given annually for outstanding contributions to the campus community. Any member of any recognized student organization is eligible.

This award is given annually to the new student who has contributed time, dedication and enthusiasm to the Freshman Class as well as to the Castleton College community.
