Hiplet Ballerinas to Perform at Castleton University on March 30

Castleton, VT (03/28/2022) — The Hiplet Ballerinas, a performance group based out of the Chicago Multi-Cultural Center, are taking the Casella Theater stage at Castleton University on March 30 at 7 p.m.

Hiplet is a fusion of classical pointe technique, hip-hop, and a variety of other urban dance styles that are rooted in communities of color. As seen on America's Got Talent, Hiplet was specifically designed to make Ballet accessible to all, mixing ballet with popular songs that will be familiar to audiences who don't normally attend ballet performances.

Hiplet Ballerinas first found fame in 2016 when their videos went viral on BuzzFeed, Good Morning America, and The Huffington Post. Since then, they've traveled the world performing at Paris Fashion Week, half-time shows for the NBA, Hong Kong's Chinese New Year's Day Parade, and more.

Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for Castleton staff and faculty, and free for Castleton students.
