Castleton Hosts Annual Family & Homecoming Weekend

Homecoming weekend features over 50 family activities and sporting events.

Castleton, VT (10/16/2018) — Castleton University welcomes all students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to join as the university hosts its annual Homecoming and Family Weekend. Running from Friday, October 19 to Sunday, October 21, guests of all ages are invited to come enjoy a weekend full of family activities and events, including a bonfire, art exhibits, athletic events, library mini golf, food trucks and more.

Homecoming weekend will kick-off at 5 p.m. on Friday with family activities and art exhibits available throughout the day.

On Saturday, the Castleton Spartan football team will gear up to take on Maritime NY at 12 p.m. Prior to the game, guests are welcomed to participate in tailgating activities such as the Family Fun Zone and arts & crafts for all ages at the Castleton Pavilion, adjacent to Spartan Stadium.

This year's festivities mark President Karen M. Scolforo's first Homecoming and Family Weekend at Castleton University! To celebrate, the President will be hosting a Meet and Greet at 4 p.m. on Saturday in the Castleton Pavilion to connect with students, parents, alumni, families, community members and other attendees.

Other events throughout the day include the Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 9 a.m. in the Campus Center 1787 Room, therapy dogs in the Campus Canter Atrium, and Library Mini Golf available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday with a Women's Rugby game against Sacred Heart University at 12 p.m., a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk slated for 1 p.m. beginning at the Castleton Pavilion, and the annual Baseball Team Golf Tournament at the Lake St. Catherine Country Club.
