Tyler Strong Presents at Popular Culture Association Conference

2016 Mar 9

Castleton University student Tyler Strong is attending and presenting at the national Popular Culture Association conference in Seattle, Washington, on March 23-26.

The Popular Culture Association is a large and diverse scholarly organization dedicated to the academic understanding of a variety of popular cultural expressions. The meeting is their annual conference, jointly offered with the American Culture Association. Most of the conference presenters are professors or graduate students, making the event an excellent opportunity for an undergraduate student to participate in the process of research on a professional level.

Tyler will be presenting a paper on Charlotte Perkins Gilman's short story, "The Yellow Wall-Paper," a tale of psychological dimensions that was originally published in 1892 in New England Magazine. His paper is entitled, "A Criticism of Medical Treatment Within "The Yellow Wallpaper.'" It will be presented as part of a panel on the 19th century Gothic.
