Tiffany Danyow Named First-Team All-Conference

2016 Jun 7

After leading the team to a perfect 8-0 record, Tiffany Danyow of Middlebury was one of four players to earn NAC Women's Lacrosse First-Team All-Conference honors earlier this year.

Brianna MacKay led the conference in scoring with an impressive 56 points, 17 more than any other player, in just eight NAC games. She had 47 goals with nine assists, scoring on 64.4 percent of her shots, the second-highest mark in the conference. She scored at least six goals in six of eight games while adding 19 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. This marks the fourth consecutive year a Spartan had been named Player of the Year, joining Kate Auer (2014 & 2015) and Amanda Flodstrom (2013).

Meghan Els was honored as the NAC Defensive Player of the Year and named First-Team All-Conference for the second consecutive season after leading the conference in save percentage once again. She stopped 70.7 percent of the shots she faced while going 8-0 in net with a miniscule 3.74 GAA. She currently ranks fifth nationally in save percentage (57.4). Els is the fifth straight Spartan to earn Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Brandi Whittemore was named First-Team All-Conference for the third consecutive year. She finished third in the NAC with 36 points on 21 goals and 15 assists while grabbing 23 draw controls and 18 ground balls. The senior was also named to the Sportsmanship Team. Tiffany Danyow earned NAC honors for the first time in her career after posting 17 caused turnovers and 24 ground balls with four goals.
