Soren Pelz-Walsh Named NAC Rookie of the Week

For the fifth time this season, senior Soren Pelz-Walsh of Brattleboro, VT was named the North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week.

Pelz-Walsh collected three wins in all competition this past week, as Castleton moved to 6-2 on the season. In the 5-4 loss at Thomas, the senior took the third-flight singles match in three sets (6-1, 4-6, 6-0) before teaming with Quentin Barthe to capture the No. 2 doubles match, 8-3. The tandem maintained that solid play the following day with an 8-5 victory in second-flight doubles at Southern Maine. On the season, Pelz-Walsh has collected a team-leading 14 wins, with respective marks of 6-1 and 8-0 in singles and doubles play.
