2015 Apr 7

After helping Castleton record wins over Colby-Sawyer and Norwich, junior Rachel Bombardier of Pittsford, VT was named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Bombardier played a pivotal role in the Spartan defense this week, helping the squad record wins at Colby-Sawyer and Norwich. Against the Chargers, the junior played the second half in the cage with just one goal allowed and five saves. She was even more impressive versus the Cadets, as she limited the opposition to just three goals with six saves and a 66.7 save percentage in sixty minutes of play. On the season, Bombardier is 2-0 overall with a 53.7 save percentage and 7.60 GAA.

This marks the first time this season that Bombardier has been honored by the NAC for her stellar play.
