After helping the Spartans improve to 11-2 overall and remain perfect in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) at 6-0, Castleton's Rachel Bombardier of Pittsford, VT was selected as the NAC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Bombardier received a pair of starts in the cage this week, leading the Spartans to victories over Worcester St. and Green Mountain. Against the Lancers, the junior turned in arguably her best performance of the season with 14 saves and a 66.7 save percentage to lead Castleton to an 11-7 victory. She followed that up by stopping four of the five shots that she faced in the Spartans' 13-1 win against the Eagles. Bombardier is now a perfect 4-0 on the season after producing 40 saves with a 59.7 save percentage and 6.00 GAA in five appearances.
