Rachael Brazil Named NEHC Goaltender of the Week

Following two strong performances in conference action over the weekend, Rachael Brazil of the Castleton University women's ice hockey team has landed New England Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Week honors. Brazil combined for 66 saves over the two starts in a 1-1-0 week overall for the Spartans. She started the week with her first career shutout, making 24 saves in a 2-0 win over Plymouth State on Friday. The following night, Brazil stood tall in a tough road matchup against the No. 6/7 Norwich Cadets, posting a new career high with 42 saves on 45 shots faced in the contest. The senior has already eclipsed her career high in single-game saves twice this season. Brazil has been in net for both wins for Castleton and owns a 2-1-0 record in three starts. She has recorded 103 saves on 107 shots, while leading the team with an impressive .963 save percentage and averaging just 1.3 goals against per game.
