Parker Earns NAC & ECAC Defensive Player of the Week

After picking up three key wins in the North Atlantic Conference last week, Castleton men's soccer players Aaron Parker and Jack Kingdon each earned weekly honors from the conference. Parker posted three strong starts when it mattered most this week, collecting three wins and recording back-to-back shutouts on the road to help Castleton clinch the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the NAC Championship Tournament. The junior netminder started his week with a 7-1 win over Johnson St. on the road, before tallying shutouts at both Husson and Maine Maritime. At Husson, he stopped three shots--including two key saves in the waning minutes of the contest to help the Spartans win 2-0. At Maine Maritime, Parker's five-save shutout locked up the team's playoff position with a 2-0 win. On the week, he saved eight shots and allowed just one goal, good for a 0.33 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage.
