Nicole Wershoven Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

2015 Nov 2

Junior Nicole Wershoven of Plantsville, CT was recently named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District I team for her work on the field and in the classroom.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their excellence on the field and in the classroom. The District Teams are divided into eight geographic locations and further delineated by Division I, II & III. Wershoven and teammate Mallory Costello were two of three NAC athletes to be named to the 13-person team. Castleton, Middlebury and Springfield were the only District I schools to have two players honored.

Wershoven has come into her own as one of Castleton's top midfielders in earning her first Academic All-District honor. She has started 19 games this year with four goals and six assists from her position on the wing. Off the field Wershoven is a Biology major with a concentration in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine. She is a chemistry minor and has been named to the President's List twice and Dean's List twice in her four semesters at Castleton.
