Mikell Earns NAC & ECAC Rookie of the Week Awards

The Castleton baseball team received more recognition for its performances last week as Davis Mikell has recieved NAC % ECAC Rookie of the Week Honors.

Mikell picked up two more wins on the mound to improve to 5-1 on the season. The freshman struck out 17 batters and allowed one earned run on nine hits over 12.0 innings. Mikell struck out seven and gave up one earned run on six hits over 5.0 innings in a win over Lyndon, before capping off the week with arguably his best performance of the season. He tossed a complete-game shutout in a 1-0 victory over Husson, matching his career high with 10 strikeouts, while allowing just three hits and one walk over 7.0 scoreless innings. Mikell leads the pitching staff with a 0.92 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 39.0 innings on the mound.
