Meeghan Doris Named NAC Defensive Player of the Week

After a week in which she stopped 25 shots and allowed just three goals, Meeghan Doris of New Milford, CT was named North Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Doris had a strong week in the cage for the Spartans, tallying 25 total saves--including two key saves on penalty strokes against Thomas--en route to a 1-1 record. Doris allowed just three goals in two games, posting a save percentage .893 on the week. Doris had her fifth game of the season with double-digit saves against Thomas on Friday evening, racking up 18 stops in a narrow 2-1 defeat.

This is the first time that Doris has earned the honor of Defensive Player of the Week for the Spartans. Doris currently ranks sixth in the nation in saves per game, averaging nearly 15 stops per contest.
