Mallory Costello Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

2015 Nov 2

Today senior Mallory Costello of Sussex, NJ was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District I team for her work on the field and in the classroom.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their excellence on the field and in the classroom. The District Teams are divided into eight geographic locations and further delineated by Division I, II & III. Costello along with teammate Nicole Wershoven were two of three NAC athletes to be named to the 13-person team. Castleton, Middlebury and Springfield were the only District I schools to have two players honored.

Costello currently leads the conference in points (48), goals (19) and assists (10), and ranks 12th nationally in goals and 11th in assists. She led the Spartans to the top seed in the NAC Tournament this year and has already been named NAC Player of the Year twice in her career. Off the field Costello is a nursing major who has been named to the Dean's List in each of her six semesters. She is currently a registered nurse in the state of Vermont and has now been named Academic All-District three straight years.
