LaFlam Earns NEWA All-Rookie Honors

The New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) released its postseason honors Monday, and the Castleton University wrestling team, in just its first year as a varsity program, was well represented in both the athletic and academic awards. Mitchell LaFlam also represents Castleton on the NEWA All-Rookie Team in the 184-pound weight class thanks to a 26-17 overall record in his initial collegiate season. LaFlam showed his durability throughout the year, leading the Spartans with 19 decision victories, plus he finished second at the Williams Open as well as third in both the Reese Invitational and the Aguiar Invitational.
