Kayla Wood Named NAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

After helping Castleton to a 4-3 record last week, sophomore Kayla Wood of E Dummerston, VT was honored as the North Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Wood was dominant in a trio of outings for the Spartans, going 2-0 with a perfect 0.00 ERA in 11 innings of work. The sophomore opened her season by going three innings in a 4-3 victory over USC-Sumter, allowing only one hit and striking out six. She followed that win with a complete-game 5-3 victory over Norwich, surrendering six hits and three unearned runs, while striking out nine. The sophomore concluded her week with one inning of scoring relief with a strikeout in a 5-0 win over Warner.
