Jessica Cameron Named AHCA Second Team All-America

After posting one of the best seasons in school history, senior Jessica Cameron, of Castleton, VT, was named by the American Hockey Coaches' Association as a 2016 CCM Second-Team All-American on Thursday evening at the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Ice Hockey Championship Banquet.

The senior goaltender recorded a 15-8-2 record on the season, which translated to a .640 winning percentage that ranked her 18th nationally. Cameron also posted a .947 save percentage to rank fifth among all Division III goalies while also ranking second in total saves with 824. She also posted a 1.87 goals-against average, which placed her 21st in Division III among goalies with more than 1,000 minutes played.

Cameron finished her career at Castleton as the all-time leader in career save percentage (.936) and winning percentage (.544), while setting single-season records in save percentage, wins, and winning percentage. She also tied single-season records in games played and games started, with 25 of each, as well as shutouts, with four.

Cameron won a multitude of awards this season, including New England Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Year and First Team All-Conference recognition. In addition to those honors, Cameron was named the NEHC Goaltender of the Week six times, and was named to the D3hockey.com Team of the Week twice.

Cameron is the third player in Castleton women's hockey history to be honored as an All-American, joining Nicoline Jensen and Paula Stephens, who were both named to the second-team during the 2013-14 season.
