Jessica Binkowski Named ECAC Defensive Player of the Week

Following a pair of shutout victories in North Atlantic Conference play last week, junior Jessica Binkowski of Goshen, CT was named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced last Tuesday.

Binkowski started twice in net, helping the squad maintain its perfect 4-0 mark in the NAC. She opened the week with a seven-save shutout in Castleton's 2-0 victory over New England College before producing her second clean sheet of the week as the Spartans beat Green Mountain 4-0. On the season, Binkowski holds a 6-5 record with a 1.56 GAA, .754 save percentage and three shutouts.

The junior keeper had been honored the day before as the NAC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Castleton stands at 8-6 on the season, including a perfect 6-0 in the NAC, after capturing back-to-back victories over Maine-Farmington and Thomas.
