Five Spartans Earn NAC First-Team All-Conference Honors

After leading the Castleton men's lacrosse to a 7-1 record in conference play, Louis Alhage of New Milford was one of five Spartans to be named to the All-Conference First Team earlier this year.

Peter Latulippe earned NAC honors for the third time in four seasons and makes his second appearance on the All-Conference First Team as a goalie. He posted a 4.98 goals against average and 60.0 percent save percentage while going 5-1 in conference play to help the Spartans finish second in NAC play.

Louis Alhage and Jason Sedell both earned First-Team honors for their midfield play this season. Alhage was one of two players in the NAC to average at least 2.5 points and 1.0 caused turnover per game, finished with 23 points on eight goals and 15 assists while picking up 27 ground balls and causing eight turnovers. Sedell, meanwhile, led the team in scoring with 26 points in eight conference games on 15 goals and 11 assists. He added 29 ground balls and six caused turnovers.

Joshua Gosselin earned all-conference recognition as the team's faceoff specialist. He finished first in the NAC with a 77.4 faceoff win percentage while ranking sixth with 47 ground balls. As a team Castleton won 74.9 percent of its faceoffs in NAC Play. Malik Hines, meanwhile, was a key cog in a defense that posted a 3.97 goals against average and ranked first in the NAC with 12.9 caused turnovers per game. Individually he had nine caused turnovers and nine ground balls with one turnover.

Castleton University is small enough to be a community where every student matters, yet offers more than 75 programs of study for undergraduate and graduate students, 27 intercollegiate sports, and over 40 clubs and organizations. The university stresses community service and provides exceptional programs for first year students.
