Conner Johnson Named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week

Following the sixth no-hitter in Castleton baseball history and the second of his career, junior Conner Johnson of Bomoseen, was recently named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

Johnson came through in his first start of the year, throwing his second career no-hitter to lead the Spartans to a 1-0 victory over Colby-Sawyer in extra innings last week. The right-hander faced 27 batters in eight innings of work with just two walks, while striking out five to pick up his first win of the season. Johnson (1-0) has thrown 11.1 innings this season with just four hits allowed and a 0.79 ERA in four appearances.

Johnson was one of three pitchers nationally to be named to the team and this marks his second career appearance on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. It is also the second time this year a Spartans has been named to the team, as Tyler Hoare made the team earlier this season.
