Conner Johnson Named NCBWA DIII National Pitcher of the Week

Junior Conner Johnson of Bomoseen, VT threw his second-career no-hitter, and subsequently was named the Division III National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Pitcher of the Week for the period of April 13-19.

Johnson made the most of his first start of 2015. His second career no-no led the Spartans to a 1-0 victory over Colby-Sawyer in extra innings April 15. The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Pitcher of the Week and D3baseball.com Team of the Week member faced 27 batters in eight innings of work with just two walks, while striking out five to pick up his first win of the season.

This season Johnson owns a 2-0 record with a 1.56 ERA in 17.1 innings of action. Castleton stands at 28-9 overall and atop the NAC with a 20-4 record after rolling off 11 straight wins this past week.
