Binkowski Named NAC Defensive Player of the Week

For the third time this season, Castleton women's soccer goalie Jessica Binkowski has been named the North Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Binkowski was a force in goal this week for the Spartans, as she didn't concede a goal against a pair of tough opponents and the Spartans played to a 0-0-2 record. Against a 13-3 Rensselaer squad, the senior stopped seven shots in a double-overtime draw at Spartan Stadium. She followed that up with a three-save performance at Maine Maritime in the NAC Quarterfinals, a game that ended in a 0-0 draw as well. Binkowski stopped a pair of shots in the second overtime period, and made a diving save to her left during the penalty kick round to help her team advance to the NAC Semifinals. The two shutouts give her a total of five on the season and 20 in her career.
